Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
As your skin ages, it loses elasticity due to a drop in the production of the proteins collagen and elastin. Your skin doesn’t bounce back into place like it once did. This is what causes fine lines and wrinkles to appear. In the areas where facial muscles move and contract to form expressions, fine lines and deeper folds in the skin can age you. Static lines can even distort your facial expression to make you look sad or angry. Anti-Wrinkle injections are purified proteins which work as neuro transmitter blockers which relax the muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles, rejuvenating your appearance so you can look as young on the outside as you feel on the inside.
  • How is the treatment performed, and who can provide the treatment?
Your practitioner will make a few tiny injections into the muscles that is causing the appearance of the fine lines and wrinkles you wish to remedy. Your experienced practitioner will determine exactly where to administer the injections to achieve the best results. No anesthesia or numbing is typically required, however your practitioner may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or topical numbing agent approximately 10 minutes prior to injecting. Because of the risks associated with improperly administered anti-wrinkle injections, only fully-qualified and trained practitioners should perform this treatment.
  • When will I see results, and how long will they last?
You may see improvement within a few days of your treatment. Full results can be seen approximately 2 weeks post-treatment. The effects of the treatment will gradually wear off, and re-treatment is generally recommended at about 3-4 months.
  • What areas can be treated with Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Anti-Wrinkle injections can be used to trreat multiple areas. Some common areas of concern that can be addressed with anti-wrinkle injections are: Frown Lines Forehead Lines Crow’s Feet Brow Lift Bunny Lines Lip Flip Gummy Smile Downward Lips Pebbled/Dimpley Chin Injections can also be used to help treat the following conditions: Bruxism (Teeth Grinding) Hyperhydrosis (Excessive Sweating) Shoulder Slimming/Neck Lengthening Neck Bands (Nefertiti Lift) Depending on the deepness and severity of wrinkles and folds, your practitioner may advise the use of dermal filler in conjunction with anti-wrinkle injections to obtain the best results.
  • Who can have this treatment?
Anti-wrinle injections are perfect for individuals who want to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, without the painful side effects or long recovery of more invasive surgical treatment options. This treatment is also beneficial as a preventative measure, for clients who want to take a proactive approach to reducing the signs of ageing. Because of the subtle and gradual nature of the results, Anti-Wrinkle injections are also perfect for anyone who does not want the dramatic and instantly recognisable signs of having had "work done." You will appear fresher and more youthful, while your friends and colleagues won't be able to notice the tell-tale signs of treatment.
  • What do I need to do before my treatment?
During your initial consult, your practioner will advise you of any preparation needed for your treatment. Avoid taking any blood-thinning or anti-innflammatory medications one week before treatment. We also advise that you avoid the use of alcohol for the three days prior to your appointment to minimise the risk of bruising and side effects.
  • What should I do after my treatment?
There is no downtime after anti-wrinkle injections. You can immediately return to social and work activitiesafter your treatment. Immediately following your treatment, you should avoid touching or applying pressure to the treated area. Makeup can be used to conceal any redness or bruising that may occur, and it typically subsides within 24 hours post-treatment. Avoid any other facial treatments for a minimum of 48 hours post-procedure. This includes facials, facial waxing, and lash and brow treatments.
  • What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injections of hyaluronic acid based gel, that help to fill in fine lines and deep wrinkles, replenish volume to soft and sagging skin, and create balance and symmetry in your appearance. Once injected, the gel plumps and lifts the skin gently to replace collagen that has been lost by the natural aging process. Semi-permanent fillers work by creating an internal framework (or scaffolding) on which new collagen and elastin can attach creating structure, tone, and firmness for a more youthful appearance. Movement and sensation are not affected. Dermal Fillers can be used to restore volume lost through biological and environmental factors, lift and plump the lips, chin, and cheeks, define the jawline, reduce sunken areas under the eyes, and even can help to reshape the nose. In some cases, fillers can be used to improve the appearance of scars.
  • How are Dermal Fillers performed, and who can provide the treatment?
Dermal Filler is injected into the dermis where wrinkles and lines have formed, where volume is lacking, or where enhancement is desired. It is injected into the skin using a syringe and a very small needle, which is about the width of a human hair. The treatment takes about 30 minutes and the results can be seen immediately. However and there may be some swelling and redness for up to a day after the procedure. Some discomfort can be experienced during the procedure and topical numbing agents are sometimes used especially when treating the lips. Because of the risks associated with improperly administered dermal filler injections, only fully-qualified and trained practitioners should perform this treatment.
  • When will I see results, and how long will they last?
Results with dermal filler injections are visible immediately. However, swelling after your treatment is common, so you may not be able to see the true results for several days, once the swelling has gone down. The longevity of dermal fillers is highly individual, as everyone's body breaks down and metabolises the filler at different rates. Additionally, there are different fillers available, and the thicker fillers will take longer to break down. Most commonly, you will start to see the effects of the filler gradually diminish after around 6 months, but can last up to 18 months.
  • What areas can be treated with Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are commonly used to: Smooth out lines around nose and mouth (Marionette Lines and Smile Lines) Enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples Reduce the appearance of under-eye bags Diminish vertical lip lines Plump & enhance the lips Smooth out a chin crease Improve symmetry among facial features Augment cheekbones Define the jawline Dermal fillers can also be used in conjunction with anti-wrinkle injections to treat and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Who can have this treatment?
Dermal fillers are suitable for men and women experiencing volume loss due to ageing, individuals who feel that their appearance is not symmetrical, or indivduals would like to augment a feature that is lacking (For example: cheekbones or jawline). This injectable treatment can restore volume to targeted areas of the face to address facial wrinkles, skin laxity, and other visible signs of ageing. Dermal filler treatments can also enhance facial contours to improve symmetry and achieve a more balanced and youthful appearance. It is not recommended to have Dermal Fillers while pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • What do I need to do before my treatment?
To reduce the risk of bruising and swelling at the injection site, it is recommended that you stop taking any blood thinning or anti-innflammatory medications one week before your treatment, and avoid alcohol consumption for the three days prior to your appointment. You should also avoid taking any Vitamin E or Fish Oil supplements one week before your treatment.
  • What should I do after my treatment?
Your practioner will discuss appropriate aftercare with you at your appointment. It is essential that you avoid touching or applying pressure to treated areas after your procedure, as this can affect where the filler settles. It is also recommended to avoid intense exercise, or any environment that exposes the area to intense heat, such as saunas. Following Dermal Filler treatments, it is imperative that you allow your skin time to rejuvenate. Avoid use of harsh exfoliants, or any active ingredient skincare products, including retinol, for the five days following your treatment. You should also avoid any facial treatments or waxing for the two weeks following your treatment. If you have had a Dermal Filler treatment performed on your lips, it is recommended that you not use any "plumping" lipsticks or lipglosses, as these can expedite the rate of break down of the filler. Some minor bruising and swelling is expected with Dermal Filler injections, this will subside in the days following your treatment. You will be able to resume all other normal work and social activities immediately following your procedure.
  • What is Fat Dissolving?
Fat Dissolving is a series of micro-injections developed to dissolve fat deposits of the face and body. Originally discovered in Italy in the early 1980’s and modified and improved in 2002 as a more effective treatment option for treating localized fat reduction without surgery. The medical formulation, a mixture of naturally occurring chemicals (similar to stomach acid) is injected into the skin in the target treatment area. The naturally occuring chemicals are found in bile acid and their job is to help dissolve fats we consume and are then secreted by the gallbladder when we eat a high fat meal to aid digestion. When injected, the chemicals work as detergents causing the oily cell wall and other fats to be dissolved in the watery fluid around the fat cell. This causes the cells to burst and release their enzymes. The immune system is then activated to clean up the debris from the dissolved cells. This inflammatory response of the body is responsible for some of the soreness felt after an injection. The inflammatory response not only completes the destruction of the fat cells; it also causes some collagen and other proteins to be deposited in the area leading to the tightening and compacting of the subcutaneous tissue. Biopsies of sites show that the destruction of the fat cells is permanent. The fat and cellular debris that have been cleared are returned with the immune cells as waste into the normal metabolic pathways.
  • How is the treatment performed, and who can provide the treatment?
First we decide which of your fat we are going to treat, weigh you, and then measure and record the thickness of your fatty tissues . Before your treatment, your practitioner will cleanse the area to be treated and may apply a topical numbing agent. We then inject the fat dissolving solution directly into the fatty tissues using microfine needles, similar to acupuncture needles. Injections take around 10 to 15 minutes and are easily tolerated. Because of the risks associated with incorrectly administered injections, this treatment should only be done by a practioner who has been fully trained in the administration of the formula.
  • When will I see results, and how long will they last?
Most patients can expect a reduction of two to six centimeters of circumference per treatment, which can be seen 4-6 weeks post-treatment. Some people see sufficient results with one treatment, however the best results can be seen with 2-4 treatments. One of the biggest advantages of fat dissolving injections is that the results are permanent! Once a fat cell has been destroyed, it has been permanently removed from your body. The fat may return if you gain more weight in the future. Follow up observations of Fat Dissolving treatments have shown that the fat deposits often stay off quite well in the treated area even if some overall weight gain is experienced.
  • What areas can be treated?
Fat Dissolving injections can be used to treat the following areas: Thighs Hips Double chin/neck Fat of the cheeks and midface Fat deposits of the lower eye pads Upper arms Lower arms Upper abdomen Lower abdomen Love handles Fat deposits of the back Knees and legs
  • Who can have this treatment?
Fat Dissolving injections are a safe and affordable body shaping method, and alternative to liposuction. It is ideally suited to people who have small pockets of stubborn fat that they would like to get rid of. The only people who are not suitable for Fat Dissolving Injections are pregnant or breastfeeding women, people suffering from eating disorders, and the extremely overweight who have a medical or psychological impediment to their weight loss. During your consultation the practitioner will evaluate your condition and profile, and decide whether Fat Dissolving Injections are the right solution for you.
  • What do I need to do before my treatment?
During your initial consultation you will be provided with pre-treatment instructions. Your practioner will discuss any medical conditions or medications applicable with you that could potentially affect treatment outcomes. It is a good idea not to starve yourself on the day of your procedure and to be well hydrated with water. After treatment drink plenty of water. Avoid blodd-thinning and anti-inflammatory medications for the week prior to your treatment. We also recommend that you avoid alcohol for at least three days prior to your treatment to minimise the risk of bruising.
  • What should I do after my treatment?
Your practitioner will thoroughly discuss your post-treatment care with you. Because of the common side effects of Fat Dissolving Injections, we recommend that you allow yourself sufficient time for any swelling in visible areas (especially the face) to reduce before any important events. Common side effects include mild bruising, itching, swelling and tenderness. Swelling is usually very minor but can rarely be of concern if your wardrobe only contains tight, figure hugging clothes. Any swelling that does occur usually resolves over the first few days. Aside from mild swelling and bruising there is virtually no ‘down time’ so you can return directly to your work and social life.
  • What are PDO Threads?
PDO Threads are dissolvable sutures, that have been used in surgery for many years, that can help to make your skin lool firmer and smoother by providing a subtle lift to sagging skin and revolumising the face through regeneration of collagen. They are a low-risk, less invasive alternative to surgery, that provide instant rejuvenating and contouring effects, while stimulating ongoing collagen and elastin production in the deeper layers of the skin.
  • How is the treatment performed, and who can provide the treatment?
The thread placement techniques are at an advanced level, and should only be done by a fully qualified practitioner. Depending on the goal of your PDO Thread treatment, there are three different types of threads that can be used: Volumising, Monothreads, and Lifting threads. Your practitioner will fully discuss with you the type of thread being used to acheive the desired outcome. PDO Threads are minimally-invasive, and results are acheived by placing dissolvable sutures into the deeper layers of your skin, allowing your practitioner to lift and tighten the skin without the need for deep incisions. Before your treatment, your practitioner will cleanse the area to be treated and apply either a topical or local anaesthetic. As soon as the area is suffciently numb, the threads are inserted under the skin via a cannula. Once the threads are inserted, they act to lift and/or volumise the skin. Any excess thread is cut off once the skin has been contoured into place. The PDO threads help to lift your skin, but the procedure also stimulates a powerful collagen-boosting response within the body. The tissue around the threads is flooded with new collagen and elastin, strengthening the skin and making it look smoother, firmer, and more youthful. The entire PDO Thread treatment takes about an hour, once the cannulas are removed, the PDO threads procedure is complete. There is no extended downtime and you will be able to resume work and social activities immediately.
  • When will I see results, and how long will they last?
Depending on the type of threads used in your treatment, improvements in skin elasticity and contour can be seen immediately post treatment with continued improvement over the 4-8 weeks post-treament. Final results can be seen around 2 months after your treatment with results around 12 months. The longevity of the results is highly individual, and you may see your results last longer.

  • What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is an anti-aging treatment for damaged, wrinkled or sagging skin and can be done by itself as a treatment or in conjuction with other treatment. It is one of the best facials you can treat yourself to. We use your very own blood to help improve the texture, quality, and firmness of your skin. The treatment can help to provide a radiant, youthful, and healthy look. After centrifuging your blood, we use the nutrient-rich, self-produced ‘liquid gold’ that contains high concentrations of plasma cells and platelets. The natural components in this concentrated substance is used on the target area to promote self-healing, stimulate collagen, and encourage new skin growth. In addition to treating the face, PRP has also been seen to have positive implications in treating hair loss and scarring, including stretch marks.
  • How is PRP performed, and who can provide the treatment?
The treatment is completed in 4 main steps. 30-45 minutes before your treatment begins, a topcial numbing agent will be applied to the area to be treated. While the numbing cream takes effect, you will have a small sample of blood drawn from your arm by a bord-certified nurse. The blood is then placed into a centrifuge, which separates the platelets from the red blood cells. Your skin will be cleansed and prepped for application of the PRP, to remove dirt and impurities, ensuring the maximum results. A micro-needling procedure will be performed on the treatment area, which allows the PRP to penetrate into tiny channels created in the skin. The PRP is then massaged into the area. The treatment will conclude with your practitioner applying a Hyaluronic Acid peptide mask which helps to sooth and reduce any inflammation. Because PRP includes drawing blood, this procedure should only be done by a fully trained and qualified medical practitioner.
  • When will I see results, and how long will they last?
An improvement in the texture and tone of the skin can be seen in as little as one week post treatment, and will gradually improve. It is recommended that you have 3 treatments at 4-6 week intervals for optimal results. Results from a single treatment can last up to 6 months, with a noticed improvement in collagen and elastin production during this time creating a smoother texture, and more youthful appearance.
  • What areas can be treated with PRP?
